  • · AI-Generated Foundation: The project began with an AI-generated image responding to the prompt about perceiving time. This image served as the foundational pillar for the entire collection.
  • · Deconstruction into 256 Colors: The original image was deconstructed into a 16x16 grid palette of 256 colours - the maximum number that 8 bits of information can define. Each color represents a distinct hue from the original artwork, embodying the myriad expressions of time.
  • · Isolation into Layers: These colors were then isolated to create 256 individual layers, each reflecting a specific colour from the original palette. These layers, along with the colour palette, became the input data for the evolution of TimeLens.
  • · Excel-Driven Randomization: Utilizing Excel as a creative tool, the 256 layers were divided into six groups—five groups of 50 and one group of 6. Artworks were created by randomly selecting one layer from each group, resulting in 256 unique combinations.
  • · Evolution into Animated Art: Each of the 256 unique compositions was transformed into a one-of-a-kind animated GIF, utilizing AI to breathe life into the static layers. Each GIF comprises 108 still images, effectively offering 108 unique artworks within a single file.

Project Overview

TimeLens is a generative art collection comprising 256 unique animated NFTs, created entirely without traditional coding techniques. This project merges AI technology with artistic vision, demonstrating that the complexities of generative art can be navigated without coding expertise. Each piece in the collection explores the concept of time, offering a visual narrative that transcends conventional artistic boundaries.

Concept & Structure

The inspiration for TimeLens traces back to a foundational idea from Albert Einstein:

“Time is relative to the observer.”

This notion sparked a journey to visually interpret time through artificial intelligence. The project began with a question posed to an AI – “How do you perceive time?” – prompting a response that formed the visual and conceptual cornerstone of the collection. The result is a digital exploration of time’s abstract nature: shifting, personal, and continuously evolving.

By pairing personal artistic vision with AI’s interpretative capabilities, TimeLens explores how different facets of time might appear through both human and machine perception. It challenges viewers to reflect on how time is felt, remembered, and transformed by perspective.

Viewer’s Experience

TimeLens invites you to observe time through the lens of the digital: layered, subjective, and alive.

The dynamic and evolving nature of these works reinforces the project’s core message: time is fluid, mutable, and filtered through individual experience. This is a meditation on how art and AI can partner to visualize that abstraction.
